Ratties in Need
Sienna is a gorgeous newcomer to rescue. She was found wandering in the streets. She was posted as Found but no one claimed her. The person who found her thinks she was dumped after she had puppies and the puppies were sold.
Sienna is 1 yr old, 15 lbs. She is good with other dogs, rides well in the car. She was taken for initial exam and vaccines. She will be spayed soon and microchipped before adoption.
Sweet Willow, mama to 3 litters ( that we know of) came to us from an area in Florida that is loaded with mosquitos. Most of the dogs we have rescued from Clewiston, FL have come with heartworms. This is a PREVENTABLE disease, if pet owners keep their pets on heartworm preventative. Willow was pregnant while heartworm positive, so her treament had to be delayed. Once her last set of puppies was weaned, she was able to start treatment. The injections are very painful, but necessary to kill heartworms.
Willow is fostered in South Florida. After treatment and recovery for heartworms, she was and had a mammary mass removed. Unfortunately that mass was cancerous but hopefully since she was spayed, the hormones won't start any new masses. She may need need Orthopedic Surgery in the future. She walks and runs comfortably now and seems to not be bothered at all. During her surgery, her temperature dropped and there were some complications afterwards: a recurrance of Bronchopneumonia. She had to be isolated and restarted on steroids and antibiotics. Donations for Willow specifically are most appreciated and very much needed.
Willow is truly the SWEETEST girl ever!
Helen was dumped with 7 puppies in a night drop box in February 2025. Each puppy and Helen needed to get to the vet right away for exams, vaccines and monthly preventatives. Helen had an ear infection and has been treated for that as well.
Helen would prefer to be the only dog in the home. She is social with people.
Baxter is 17 yrs old. His owner passed away at the end of 2023. His family wanted to euthanize him but the vet refused and told him to look for rescue. We took Baxter in and are taking continued care of him. He is one of our Fospice dogs. He had a long standing ear infection that went untreated for years, a hole in the roof of his mouth and dental disease. We have taken care of the ears and repaired the oral fistula in his mouth. Last year he had an abcess in his mouth that required more dental work.
On top of this, Baxter has a very sensitive GI system and has crystals in his urine so he needs a blend of GI low fat food and Urinary diet. Aside from arthritis, Baxter is still a great boy. He loves to explore, go for short walks and LOVES a soft bed.
We are looking for sponsors to help continue keeping Baxter comfy in his golden years.

Charlize has been in rescue for 2 years when out of the blue, one of her eyes started having a whitish blue tinge. She is only 3 years old, so we knew it wasn't cataracts.
Regular vet visit didn't see much of concern but showed her tear production was low so she was prescribed some meds.
The blue tinge got worse so we had to consult an Animal Opthamalogist. The diagnosis wasn't great - she had a luxating lens. More meds were tried on a round the clock regimen. After 4-6 weeks of follow up visits and constant care, we didn't have great options. The easiest option for Charlize was to remove the eye as the pressure was building behind it no matter what medications she was on. She recovered nicely from that surgery and today 09/08/2025 the other eye looked like it had the same tinge. We took her to the specialist for an Emergency Consult. The right eye lens isn't luxating as badly as the left had done but the pressure behind the eye is very high. She is taking multiple medications and has a follow up visit next week. Specialist bills are very expensive, especially Emergency Fees. Please consider donating towards Charlize's past, current and future eye care bills.
Sponsor a Rattie FAQs
Often when we rescue a dog, they come to us with hidden medical conditions. This could be heart worms (very common), tumors, eye problems, pancreatitis or even broken bones. We try and keep our adoption fees low but one dog with a severe medical condition could deplete most of our funds. It is these special cases where we need additional financial support to care for these sweet babies.
Pick a dog from our sponsor page and follow the links to donate for their veterinary care. Any amount will help off-set our veterinary expenses or medications for the pups. The donation is tax-deductible and you will know you helped one of our ratties on the road to recovery.
