Ratties in Need
Brianna and her housemates had euthanasia deadlines at the shelter in late May 30th 2026. We took in a total of four dogs, whose owner was deported. The 4 dogs were in the shelter since May 30th where they all lost weight and contracted bad upper respiratoy infections.
Brianna will be available for adoption soon. She is estimated to be 15 lbs, 2-3 years old and gorgeous. Aside from getting sick at the shelter, her skin also needs some work. We feel stress from the shelter played a big part in that and hope to see hair growth soon.
Leia is just a puppy and she needs treatment for heartworms! We are looking for sponsors for her vetting which includes:
Bloodwork, spay, Skin supplements for her ears and a scar on her back, antibiotics taken a month prior to heartworm injections, 3 rounds of Diroban to kill the heartworms.
UPDATE June 4,2026 :Glenda's sutures were removed. She is doing great! She learns to navigate her way around the house. She is loving and so sweet!
UPDATE May 21, 2026: Glenda had to have her right eye removed. The pressure in that eye was not improving at all and the Opthamologist said it was necessary to be done ASAP. We weren't expecting a fast paced emergency case, but we are so glad we could save her. Glenda is amazing!
Glenda was terrified and shut down in the Animal Shelter. We saw a video of her shivering and felt so bad for her!
Once rescued, we saw her right eye was very swollen and got her in to see an Opthamologist ASAP. She has glaucoma and other issues with her eyes and may be visually impaired in her left eye as well. She is VERY sweet and a gentle sweet girl. We are trying to save the eye but need your help.
Her Opthalmologist and regular DVM visits in the 1st week totalled $550 and she has more vet visits coming up. Please help us help her.
Baxter is 17 yrs old. His owner passed away at the end of 2023. His family wanted to euthanize him but the vet refused and told him to look for rescue. We took Baxter in and are taking continued care of him. He is one of our Fospice dogs. He had a long standing ear infection that went untreated for years, a hole in the roof of his mouth and dental disease. We have taken care of the ears and repaired the oral fistula in his mouth. Last year he had an abcess in his mouth that required more dental work.
On top of this, Baxter has a very sensitive GI system and has crystals in his urine so he needs a blend of GI low fat food and Urinary diet. Aside from arthritis, Baxter is still a great boy. He loves to explore, go for short walks and LOVES a soft bed.
We are looking for sponsors to help continue keeping Baxter comfy in his golden years.

Charlize has been in rescue for 2 years when out of the blue, one of her eyes started having a whitish blue tinge. She is only 3 years old, so we knew it wasn't cataracts.
Regular vet visit didn't see much of concern but showed her tear production was low so she was prescribed some meds.
The blue tinge got worse so we had to consult an Animal Opthamalogist. The diagnosis wasn't great - she had a luxating lens. More meds were tried on a round the clock regimen. After 4-6 weeks of follow up visits and constant care, we didn't have great options. The easiest option for Charlize was to remove the eye as the pressure was building behind it no matter what medications she was on. She recovered nicely from that surgery and today 09/08/2025 the other eye looked like it had the same tinge. We took her to the specialist for an Emergency Consult. The right eye lens isn't luxating as badly as the left had done but the pressure behind the eye is very high. She is taking multiple medications and has a follow up visit next week. Specialist bills are very expensive, especially Emergency Fees. Please consider donating towards Charlize's past, current and future eye care bills.
Sponsor a Rattie FAQs
Often when we rescue a dog, they come to us with hidden medical conditions. This could be heart worms (very common), tumors, eye problems, pancreatitis or even broken bones. We try and keep our adoption fees low but one dog with a severe medical condition could deplete most of our funds. It is these special cases where we need additional financial support to care for these sweet babies.
Pick a dog from our sponsor page and follow the links to donate for their veterinary care. Any amount will help off-set our veterinary expenses or medications for the pups. The donation is tax-deductible and you will know you helped one of our ratties on the road to recovery.
